But how different are we from him, when many of us whitewash the racism we incubate week after week as we worship with others? If we’re sincere, we would acknowledge that at some troubling level, we often treat others as inferior to us. Why shoot them with a gun when we surely murder them with the concealed weapons of racism—discrimination, injustice, slander, hatred, revenge, selfish neglect, exploitation, passive rejection, or thoughtless indifference?
