Let’s avoid two dangers. First, the danger of NOT-waiting on the Lord. We often think God is too slow—just because we desperately want an overnight success, instant prosperity, quick solutions to our problems, rapid recovery from illnesses, and instant marriages or relationships. Second, the danger of OVER-waiting on God. Here, we don’t like what God is bidding us to do, so we don’t obey Him or we delay obedience, claiming “we’re praying about it or waiting on the Lord.”
Whereas the first danger tries to rush God’s timing, the second doesn’t immediately heed His clear directives to go forward. Both dangers express lack of faith. Wait on the Lord, but don’t over-wait (Psalm 27:14; Exodus 14:15, 16).—Samuel Koranteng-Pipim
