An Unfinished Business

As the year races to an end, let’s reflect on one unfinished business—You! You’re an unfinished business. A work in progress. A masterpiece pending approval.

God isn’t finished with you yet. You’re still under construction. So, don’t be discouraged when you see only broken pieces, rough spots, and detours in your life. The Divine Engineer is up to any challenge, and He’s more than willing to fix what is broken—if you allow Him. Here’s the assurance: “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).

It’s God who took the initiative to start His work in you; He won’t stop “—until the day of Jesus Christ.”  Yes, the unfinished will be finished! The broken will be fixed, the rough spots will be leveled, and the crooked places shall all be straightened. Right now, you’re still under construction. You’re God’s work in progress. Day by day, moment by moment, He is re-creating His image in you, so you can fully reflect the matchless beauty of His character.

Until Jesus comes again to take you Home, there’ll not be an end to your growing. There’ll always be things to learn and unlearn, always some work to do and do well, and always areas in your life to become or overcome. You’ll remain an unfinished business—until that day, when the King of Glory will echo the words of the Man of Calvary: “It is finished”—only this time, the declaration concerns the good work He’s begun in you (cf. 2 Timothy 4:6-8; Revelation 22:11-21).

We’ll always be unfinished business, because character development is an unfinished business. We can, however, speed up the process by cooperating with God to finish the good work He’s begun in us.—Samuel Koranteng-Pipim.
